The present station was opened in 1989 and serves the villages of Tutbury in Staffordshire, England and Hatton, Derbyshire in Derbyshire, England. Due to spatial restrictions at the location chosen, the platforms are not opposite one another, but instead straddle the A511 road, where a signal box controls the level crossing. The station is unmanned, but still retains its original waiting shelters. All services are provided by Central Trains.
